DomainLore tops £1m in domain sales with the sale of quit.co.uk.

5th September, 2013

The sale of quit.co.uk is fully completed with ownership transferred - the £1m+ figure is now secured without further risk of reversal.

Time to start celebrating! Surpassing this important mark I'd like to symbolize how DomainLore has grown:

Started in 2009 as a minimal viable product to aid with the sale of own domain names mostly, the service evolved over the years, attracting more and more users from all walks of life - not only regular domain investors but a diverse crowd of marketers, domain catchers, SEO professionals, advertisers, FTSE 500 companies and many others who prominently identify domain name values in their business.

Well before reaching 1 million mark, the marketplace has already established itself as internationally recognised domain name aftermarket, which specialises in UK domain names and sees more auction action than any other online venue listing .uk auctions. It's current popularity and audience reach now often results in sellers achieving better prices than on previously considered dominant marketplaces; at the same time it's unique approach for price setting motivates domain owners to let the market do the job of determining and unleashing full value of their auction listings. This attracts buyers realising they are getting the best bang for their buck, a fair price not achievable under more traditional circumstances - in exchange such fine balance ignites more interest and delivers best results for both buyers and sellers under present market conditions.

DomainLore is passing 100% of the sale price to domain sellers and neither charges buyers any fees. It's a good contrast to 10-20% industry accepted cut levied on other domain trading platforms. I can't guarantee free service will last forever - fees derived from non-sold auction listings are not even covering the minimum wage of one unskilled worker... It is pure enthusiasm and be sure to enjoy it while it lasts!

I'd like to thank all the sellers and the buyers - everyone who believes in, relies on and helps DomainLore grow by conducting their trade in a responsible and trusted manner.

I planned to institute a prize for the domain which breaks 1m mark, but didn't want to announce this beforehand to avoid unneeded attempts in gaming wins with non-genuine sales.

The give-away is a case of my fav Bollinger Sp, each bottle finds it destination to:

- Ben and John, congrats for breaking million counter!
- Top seller, Darren, with 193 successfully completed sales - a winner by a long distance!
- 2nd top seller, David, 134 sales and ticking!
- Top buyer, Jeff, 127 purchases! Keep it up :)
- 2nd top buyer, Adelere with 95 purchases, a very wise activity record!

I hope you all guys do drink for a good occasion ;-)

And for everyone who didn't make it to the top list but are keen DomainLore users - it's a free for all for 7 days! Post your auctions finishing on or before 12th of September at £50 starting price without reserve and deposit is not required as you won't be charged if domains didn't sell. There is a limit of 4 domains to ensure all have a go.

Here's to the next one!

PS: Oh, yeah, and DomainLore will be dropping it's "beta" status passing this milestone, even though it'll remain under active development.
